The European standard EN-631 sets under the term Gastronorm (GN) the standard format for containers used in the treatment of food in professional kitchens, in any of its processes: preparation – cooking – storage – conservation – transport – cleaning. This standardization allows to optimize the management and maximum utilization of space in the kitchen, transport and storage equipment: shelves of storage, carts, cabinets, ovens, refrigerators, buffet…
The basic format is the GN 1/1: 530 x 325 mm. Others are fractions or multiples of that size, resulting in this list:

GN1/4: 265 × 162 mm
GN1/6: 176 × 162 mm
